“Why would you buy a roof with holes in it?” That question, from co-owner Graham Van Der Pas, is basically why KLAD exists. We manufacture and install standing seam metal roofing and wall panels in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and we build them the way we’d want our own roof built: no exposed fasteners, no shortcuts.

THE ORIGIN STORY
How Klad
began.
Graham spent years in construction followed by time spent in Scandinavia, where roofing has to survive real winters. “I always looked at those roofs and thought they were cool,” he says. “It just made sense for us to bring it here. They deal with a lot of the same climate issues as we do in Atlantic Canada, they have to stand the test of time and weather.”
He came to Liverpool, partnered with Nick and Bobbie-Jo Strum, and together they upleveled the metal roofing and siding standard in Nova Scotia. The idea that “you’ll be pushing up daisies before you have to replace your roof,” became KLAD Building Armour.

Based in Liverpool, Queens County, KLAD is owned and operated by Bobbie-Jo Strum, Nick Strum, and Graham Van Der Pas. None of the three are silent partners, they’re all heavily involved, in the shop most days, on installs, and on the phone with customers.

Every panel built
where we sell it.
Every panel is manufactured at our own facility in Liverpool on our Englert MetalMan roofing machine. For complex rooflines we use drone scanning to get measurements accurate to the millimetre. We install within an hour of Liverpool and supply panels across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI.
“It’s a no-brainer to protect that investment,” Graham says of the roof over your head. “If you want the best system, this is it.”

KLAD installs within approximately an hour of our Liverpool facility, covering Queens County, the South Shore, and surrounding areas. For projects outside our install radius, we work with a network of trained and vetted local contractors across Nova Scotia. We supply standing seam panels, trims, and flashing to roofing contractors and builders across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI. Delivery anywhere in the Maritimes. We are able to ship across Canada.
